Win can kick-start season
CLYDEBANK hero Darian MacKinnon grabbed a late brace on Saturday as the Bankies beat Pollok 5-4 at Newlandsfield.
And he insisted there is plenty more to come from him and the team as they recorded their first Super Premier League victory in the club's history
In his third season at Holm Park, the midfielder admitted things have not gone to plan so far this campaign but believes the squad are gelling together and will soon be back to their best.
After successive defeats against Kirkintilloch Rob Roy and Petershill the Bankies were looking to move up the table and MacKinnon is hoping this is the start of a good run of form.
He said: "I am very happy at the result on Saturday. It was very important for us to get the win.
"We have our first three points on the board and we can hopefully kick on from here. For me to get my first and second goal of the season too was great and hopefully there are many more to come.
"The team spirit is great and we are gelling together well.
"We are getting back to how we can play now and hopefully we can continue to improve."
The Bankies host Ashfield on Saturday and MacKinnon is expecting a tough challenge against who pipped them to the Super League First Division title last season.
He added: "Saturday will be tough for us as they are a good side and they beat us to the title last season.
"But we will be up for it and will give our all for the three points."
