BANKIES boss Budgie McGhie was delighted to keep the core of his title winning team as 13 players signed deals to stay at Holm Park.

Thirteen players have so far signed deals for the 2011-12 campaign including Stefan Gonet, Liam Campbell, Paul Allum, Barry Crawford, Gordon Moffat and Ross McPherson, much to the delight of the manager.

McGhie said: "I am pleased that we have managed to sign the majority of the squad from last season.

"There were no players digging their heels in about re-signing and that shows they want to be here. The atmosphere in the dressing room is good and with the same core of players together for another season, I am sure that will continue."

Martin McComish and Michael McAdam have still to enter talks with the manager, Stevie Dallas and Kevin Murray have retired and Davy Green and Paul McMenamin are set to leave the club.

However, Budgie is hoping to tie down McComish and McAdam and doesn't think the departure of the two will pose a massive problem come next season.

He also reserved a special thanks for the players' efforts over the years.

He added: "Losing Green and McMenamin is a blow but we will make sure it doesn't leave us unprepared for the season to come.

"I wish them luck for the future and thank them for their efforts in their time at Clydebank.

"In regards to Martin and Michael, I will sit down with them when they are free and discuss about signing for us for next season. They are on holiday so it makes it difficult from that point of view."

McGhie also revealed he is planning to add to the squad after adding ex-Arthurlie and Beith boss Frank Lynch to the backroom staff who replaces Bobby Cameron who resigned after eight years at the club.

McGhie added: "It was sad to see Bobby go but he is 61 and has done wonders here, so we thank him for his hard work over the years.

"Frank has played with us before and has got good experience in the game so I am sure he will prove to be a good asset to the club.

"In terms of players, we are trying to add between four and six so we will know later this week where we stand and hopefully that will stand us in good stead for next season."
