CLYDEBANK boxer Gary McArthur made a triumphant return to the ring with a points win over English veteran Sid Razak.

McArthur was delighted to complete his comeback to boxing against the Birmingham bruiser after being out of action for a year.

Promoter Tommy Gilmour revealed last month McArthur could be in line for a Scottish title challenge in the new year if he won Monday night's bout.

But the 29-year-old insists he wants to concentrate on making progress in the gym.

He said: "I have heard that mentioned but until it's signed and sealed, it's all just talk really.

"Until then I just want to concentrate and go back to the gym and work with Barry Winter and progress for my next fight.

"I feel pleased to get the win. It has been a hard road back. I just need to train harder again before my next fight."
