Preparations are well under way at Clydebank RFC as they gear up for the upcoming season in BT West Division Two.

Clydebank have ramped up their training within the last week as they get ready to face Helensburgh RFC on Saturday.

And player/ head coach David Miller thinks the game against the Grizzlies will be a good test for his side.

He said: “We’ve not played them for a while, they’re in the division above us and they’re really good.

“It should be a good test and a good game for us as we prepare for the upcoming season.”

The Ardencaple side narrowly escaped relegation last year from BT West Division One, but under new head coach Adam Hart they will be hoping to steer clear of a relegation scrap this year.

Clydebank have increased the workload at training, introducing contact as they prepare themselves for the campaign.

Miller has also been pleased with the amount of bodies that have been turning out for training.

He added: “Training has been good, there have been good numbers as well so we’re ramping it up a wee bit, pushing the guys a bit harder.

“We’re introducing a bit of contact, a bit of tackling and breakdown work so it’s getting harder.

“We’re going to be hitting each other pretty hard so we’ll see what happens, hopefully nobody gets injured.”

The club kick off their competitive games with their annual 10s tournament at Whitecrook.

They will also be hosting at the event this year, and are looking for donations.
