SCOTSTOUN football club Victoria Park FC last week took on a charity cycle to raise funds for Maggie’s Glasgow and the club.

The youth football club, who have 2005 and 2006 teams, cycled along the canal path, starting at Clydebank Shopping Centre and finishing in Dumbarton.

Coach and centre visitor Colin McGeoch, who organised the event said: “I feel that Maggie’s Glasgow has given a lot at various stages of illness and it feels good to be able to give something back.” Gillian Hailstones, at Maggie’s Glasgow said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be supporting Colin and Victoria Park FC with their cycle. Victoria Park are launching a children’s section for 4-7 year olds, they are also looking for players born in 2005.
