Henry will tackle the Spanish course, situated just outside Madrid, boosted by an impressive start on the Alps Tour having made two cuts on the tours first three events which took place in Egypt throughout February.

After a few weeks at home working on his game, Henry is confident he can continue his good form.

He told SportScene: “It’s been a pretty good start. A lot better than my start for the last few years. It took me about four or five tournaments last year to make a cut and I’ve made two out of three already which is definitely an improvement.” The Golf Valdeluz course is a new one on the Alps Tour this year. Despite having never played the course before, Henry has a good idea of the challenges it will present.

He said: “It will be different to the Egypt tournaments, there will probably be more rough and more trees. In Egypt it was just fairway, semi-rough then desert. Whereas this course will be fairway, semi-rough, rough, trees, out of bounds, hazards and all sorts.

“It will be similar to the courses we were playing on last year.” As well as working on various aspects of his game with his coach during the time between tournaments, Henry has continued to work with a psychologist, something he never thought he would use utilise in his career.

He said: “Yeah it has been good, it is something that I never thought would be as big a help as it has been. It is a massive advantage to have him on board and using the stuff he gets me to do.

“I run through a mental routine before I hit my shot. It is pretty simple stuff but sometimes it just takes someone to put it to you in a certain way.”
