The two teams performed magnificently on the day and returned with a combined impressive record of seven wins, one draw and one defeat from their nine games.

In the development squad, Whitecrook’s Erin Brockett made her full debut in the Gaels red and white colours and comfortably adapted to the team, with Ryan Jarvis also very impressive on the day. Aiden Westwater provided some amazing dribbling skills and Anthony Lawless clocked up a lot of scores as the team’s key forward.

Meanwhile Glasgow’s experienced team recorded an impressive tally of three wins and one draw with Jack Westwater, Josh McDade and Conor McGuinness providing scores galore. Ciaran Syed was a colossus in defence. Juniors club training continues at Clydebank Community Sports Hub, 60 Dean Street, G81 1RL, every Wednesday in March at 7pm. With one hour of Gaelic football tuition for children between 8 and 14 for £1 per family.

Glasgow Gaels senior mens and ladies teams are also back training in March 2015 and are always open to new players coming to get involved — even if you haven’t tried before, there are lots of transferrable skills from rugby, soccer and basketball and it is a very enjoyable sport.
