The top two teams in the league, Yoker and Clydebank, both had convincing home wins, against Yarrow and Victoria Park respectively. Yoker’s lead over their closest rivals remains 13 points although Clydebank still have one game in hand. The Singer v Dalmuir game was postponed and was due to be played on Tuesday, January 20. In the other remaining game, Old Kilpatrick beat Radnor Park at the Station Road clubhouse. Leaders Clydebank lost their third match in four weeks as they were well beaten at Singer, who themselves moved into third position. Yoker were unable to take full advantage though as they lost 4-2 at Albion. The joint league leaders, Dalmuir and Albion, both suffered defeat allowing Radnor Park B and Victoria Park to narrow the gap. SCOTTISH INDOOR BOWLING ASSOCIATION The latest Gents National Indoor League matches were played on Saturday, January 17. In Division One South, Dumbarton secured a convincing 102-65 victory at home against West of Scotland. This result means that Dumbarton leapfrog West of Scotland into fifth place in the league. If the positions remain the same after this week’s matches, Dumbarton will be involved in a relegation play-off game and West of Scotland will be automatically relegated. The final games take place on Saturday, January 24 and the fixtures are as follows: East Kilbride v Dumbarton and West of Scotland v Inverclyde. In Division Two West, Whiteinch had an away match at Cowal, although the result has not been reported. Allander were also away from home, at Galleon. The score has been reported as Galleon 32 Allander 0 which suggests that Allander were unable to fulfil the fixture and Galleon were awarded a 8-0 win in each of the four rinks. There are still three matches left in Division 2 West as there are seven teams in the league. The fixtures for Saturday, January 24 are as follows: Auchinleck v Allander and Whiteinch v Galleon.

The final matches in the Ladies National Indoor Leagues were played on Saturday, January 17. In Premier Division A, champions Whiteinch chalked up another home victory by beating Falkirk 93-77. The Whiteinch Ladies finished four points clear of nearest rivals Aberdeen, a magnificent achievement. Whiteinch will play against Arbroath, who finished top of Premier Division B, in the League Cup Final next month. In Division 1 Section D, the Dumbarton ladies travelled to West of Scotland but were beaten 87-50. The Lanarkshire v Allander result has not been reported.
