With leaders Yoker not having a game, Clydebank had a good away win at Dalmuir to take over the top position. Meanwhile, Yarrow continued their good form with a victory at Radnor Park to move into third place. The fixtures for Short Carpet week seven to be played at 6.45pm tonight (Wednesday) are as follows: Clydebank v Albion, Yoker v Dalmuir, Victoria Park v Radnor Park, Old Kilpatrick v Yarrow. Singer do not have a game this week. The Week 8 fixtures to be played on Wednesday, November 26 are as follows: Albion v Radnor Park, Clydebank v Yoker, Victoria Park v Dalmuir and Yarrow v Singer. Old Kilpatrick will sit out week eight.

The week five matches in the Senior Short Carpet League were played on Monday, November 10. Leaders Clydebank did not have a match which gave the chasing pack a chance to narrow their lead. However, Yoker won at home to second placed Radnor Park and Old Kilpatrick could only muster one point at Dalmuir. The results from the week five games were as follows: Singer 6 Albion 0, Dalmuir 5 Old Kilpatrick 1 and Yoker 4 Radnor Park 2. The result of the clash between the bottom two teams, Scotstounhill and Victoria Park, was not reported to the District Secretary. The league placings (top five only) are: 1. Clydebank 24 points, 2. Radnor Park 22 points, 3. Yoker 18 points, 4. Old Kilpatrick 17 points, 5. Singer 16 points. The fixtures for the week six games due to be played on Monday, November 17 were as follows: Albion v Scotstounhill, Victoria Park v Clydebank, Dalmuir v Singer, Radnor Park v Old Kilpatrick. Yoker no game.

The fixtures for week seven matches to be held on Monday, November 24 are as follows: Old Kilpatrick v Albion, Scotstounhill v Dalmuir, Clydebank v Radnor Park and Yoker v Singer. Victoria Park do not have a Week 7 fixture. All Seniors’ matches are scheduled to commence at 1.00pm.

The CDBA Dominoes League week six games were played on Monday, November 10. Dalmuir had an excellent away win against Radnor Park B and, as a result, they find themselves at the top of the table. Albion stayed in joint second position alongside Radnor Park A, who narrowly defeated them.

The week six results were as follows: Albion 7 Radnor Park A 8, Radnor Park B 5 Dalmuir 10 and Victoria Park 6 Singer 9. Clydebank did not have a fixture. The league positions are as follows: 1. Dalmuir 8 points, 2. Albion/Radnor Park A 6 points, 4. Radnor Park B/Clydebank/Singer/Victoria Park four points. The week seven fixtures were scheduled to be played on Monday, November 17. Fixtures for week eight, due to be played on Monday, November 24 are as follows: Victoria Park v Dalmuir, Radnor Park A v Radnor Park B and Clydebank v Singer. Albion not have a week eight fixture.

SCOTTISH INDOOR BOWLING ASSOCIATION The Gents National Indoor Leagues continued on Saturday, November 15. In Division One South, the Dumbarton Gents team continued to struggle for results after another disappointing defeat at home. They replace East Kilbride at the bottom of the league after losing by a seven shot margin. The final score was Dumbarton 79 East Kilbride 86. Meanwhile in Division Two West, Allander achieved an excellent home win against Glasgow by an 88-68 scoreline. Whiteinch did not have a game last Saturday but stay in second place. Allander now move up to fourth position. There is a break in league duties this coming weekend as the National Gents Pairs takes place at various neutral venues across the West of Scotland. The fixtures for the next league matches due to be played on Saturday, November 29, are as follows: Division One South - Tweedbank v Dumbarton, Division Two West - Allander v Cowal and Glasgow v Whiteinch.

The Senior West Indoor Leagues week six matches were played on Saturday, November 15. In Section A, Dumbarton had a fantastic away win at league leaders Ayr IBC and move up to third place in the section.

In Section C, there was a fantastic “derby” match between close rivals Allander and Whiteinch. Allander had home advantage but in the end, the teams could not be separated and the score finished 56-56. This result means that both Clubs remain in the same league position, Whiteinch in third and Allander in fourth place. Blantyre stay top of the league. The Senior leagues continue this weekend and the games scheduled for Saturday, November 22 are as follows: Seniors West Section A – Dumbarton v West of Scotland, Seniors West Section C – Galleon v Allander and Whiteinch v Glasgow.

The Whiteinch Ladies’ season just keeps getting better with yet another good victory. They stay top of Premier Division A after a comfortable 106-63 home victory over East Fife. In Division One Section D, the Dumbarton ladies went down 93-74 at Fintry and the Allander ladies were well beaten at West of Scotland. The missing result from the previous week was Dumbarton 70 West of Scotland 75. The Dumbarton Ladies remain in third spot with Allander in sixth position. The National Ladies Pairs will be played this Saturday so the next league fixtures will be held on Saturday, November 29. Premier Division A – Whiteinch v Turriff, Division One Section D – Dumbarton v Lanarkshire and Coatbridge v Allander.

The National Seniors Singles, Pairs and Triples were played on Sunday, November 9 up to semi-final stage. The results are now available. Senior Singles: Round Two – Dumbarton 21 Allander 20, Quarter Final – Glasgow 21 Dumbarton 17, Senior Pairs: Round Two – Allander 24 Glasgow 5, West of Scotland 23 Dumbarton 11, Quarter Final – West of Scotland 17 Allander 14, Senior Triples: Round 2 – Whiteinch 14 Fintry 12, Quarter Final – Whiteinch 21 Lanarkshire 11. Well done to the Whiteinch triple who will play their semi-final against Garioch IBC next year.

The fixtures for the National Gents Pairs to be held on Saturday, November 22 are as follows: Preliminary Round – Irvine v Whiteinch at Prestwick, Round One - Berwickshire v Allander at Midlothian, Dumbarton v Cowal at Cumbernauld and Clydebank v Coatbridge at Prestwick. The fixtures for the Ladies National Pairs are: Preliminary Round – West of Scotland v Allander at East Lothian, Dumbarton v Midlothian at Cumbernauld and Whiteinch v Cumbernauld at Ayr.
