"Through participating in sport at school and in clubs we hope events such as this will inspire young people to become sports stars of the future." Stewart Harris, chief executive of sportscotland, added: "We are delighted to see this wonderful event taking place in Drumchapel, with so many different clubs coming together to celebrate sport throughout the area.

"With the Commonwealth Games now very much on the horizon, it is an exciting time for Scottish sport and it is fantastic to see Drumchapel embracing sportscotland's Community Sport Hub initiative - a key legacy component of Glasgow 2014." Chair of Glasgow Life and the executive member for the Commonwealth Games, Councillor Archie Graham, said: "The Drumwealth Games celebrated Drumchapel's rich sporting history and showcased the fantastic work being carried out to increase sports participation in the city, as we look ahead to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

"The event provided a real showcase of that legacy as hundreds of young people joined together to showcase sport in Drumchapel.
