YOKER finally played their last match of the season on Saturday, beating Kello Rovers 4-2.

Despite not having played since May 13, the Whe-Ho were fast out of the blocks, racing into an early lead.

The manner of performance and quality of goals left manager John Brogan with plenty to smile about.

He said: "The boys were brilliant, I can't fault any of them.

"We made a brilliant start and kept playing great football for the 90 minutes.

"Some of the goals were superb too and I am really happy for the boys that they have ended the season with a win.

"Although we conceded two late goals, that shouldn't take the shine off what was a great display."

Looking ahead to next season, the match gave Brogan the chance to field trialists and prepare for the new campaign.

He added: "It gave me the chance to play a few trialists and have an early look at them which is a bonus.

"There were some good performances by the team as a whole.

"First and foremost, it is important to give the boys a few weeks off now and then we will prepare for the new season again.

"They deserve a break because they have been brilliant and we will come back and look at things then.

"Over the next few weeks, although the players are off, the management won't stop working to bring new faces in and hopefully we can add the right people in the coming weeks."
