BANKIES' CUP AGONY
CLYDEBANK boss Budgie McGhie couldn't hide his frustration on Saturday as his side were knocked out of the West of Scotland Cup by Glenafton.
The Bankies were hoping to keep their winning run going but they were halted by a strong Glens side.
He said: "It was disappointing as it was the same old fralties.
"We played well and worked hard to get head. But we gave away cheap goal. We keep on shooting ourselves in the foot. But we will keep on working hard and try to produce a better result against Rob
Roy on Saturday.
"We can't change much in the defence. We are not well covered because we lost five or six at the start of the season."
One highlight for McGhie has been the arrival of Graham Smith and Barry Jones.
Smith has made an immediate impact in the Clydebank ranks, scoring three goals and was even the provider for their solitary strike against the Glens on Saturday.
He added: "Graham and Barry Jones have done well.
"If you include the friendly, he has scored three out of four games so far so he looks like a good signing."
