BANKIES boss Budgie McGhie is confident his side can secure another memorable Scottish Junior Cup performance and knock out Bonnyrigg Rose on Saturday.

Clydebank were drawn against the East of Scotland giants last week and the Holm Park boss

admits he was wishing for an smaller opponent at this early stage in the tournament.

But McGhie, pictured, is still adamant Clydebank can march into the fourth round if they are on top form.

He told Sport Scene: "It is a tough draw. They are second in the East of Scotland Super League and I think they suffered their first league defeat on Saturday.

"I would say it would be a tough draw at home but the fact we need to go through their to the East makes it even harder.

"It's the sort of game I would have wanted in the quarter-finals. But we can't complain as that's the luck of the draw.

"But I think we are capable of getting a result.

"The Auchinleck game proved that and We are improving all the time.

"If we play at our best we have nothing to fear. We have proved that against the best teams in the past.

"They will be the bookies favourites but we will be going there with nothing to fear."

Clydebank saw off the Rose in the fifth round five years ago with Ryan Scobbie grabbing the winner.

McGhie is looking for a repeat result and is certain Bankies fans will back the team in huge numbers at New Dundas Park.

He added: "We played them in the fifth round up at Duntocher in the fifth round and they were a good team then.

"If they are second in the top league in the East of Scotland they are going to be up there.

"There won't be massive odds on them winning the competition.

"It will be a great occasion and I'm sure the supporters will get behind us."
