CSWFA Unico Cup Final Atlantis AFC................. 6 FC Argyle...................... 0

JUST a fornight after the heartbreak of the CDL cup final, Atlantis picked themselves up to claim their first ever silverware.

Atlantis settled into the rhythm of the game quickly and were creating chances right from the off.

It took until the 13th minute for Atlantis to take the lead when a high ball into the air caused havoc in the Argyle defence, allowing Dorman to open the scoring.

More chances fell to Atlantis, but on the half hour mark Scullion picked out Dorman who doubled his side's lead.

After the break Atlantis stuck to their task and on 56 minutes the game was all but won.

Crawford beat man after man on the break before having to hold onto the ball in the midfield as Barr was his only man in support.

Eventually the supporting Gray slotted home to make it 3-0. With seven minutes left, great play in the midfield released Traynor on the left who produced a terrific low cross which Dorman met to complete an excellent hat-trick.

Substitute McManus added a fifth before Crawford bagged a goal in the 92nd minute.

The final whistle went to scenes of celebration, the cup final jinx had finally ended and after only five years Atlantis had won their first trophy.

A club spokesman said: "Well done to the players, they should all be proud of this achievement.

"Especially given the fact that this was practically a new team from last season.

"We re-built our squad and if our end of season form had been replicated through the campaign we would have been in with a shout of more honours."

Atlantis AFC: McQuillan, Williamson (MacColl, 81), McLarrie (c), Conroy, Barr (Gallacher, 75), Gray (Gourlay, 84), Scullion (Reid, 78), Crawford, Traynor, Gibson, Dorman (McManus, 85).

Man of the match - split decision between the outstanding skipper Chris McLarrie and hat-trick hero Peter Dorman.
