Yoker game called off

Print | Email

YOKER boss John Brogan was raging at the referee's decision to call off their top-of-the-table clash with Shettleston on Saturday.

Brogan insisted the pitch was playable after his own inspection of the Holm Park pitch, however the referee disagreed - leaving the Yoker players and management in disbelief.

He blasted: "We thought the pitch was playable on Saturday after we had a look at it in the morning. I reckoned it was a harsh decision by the referee to call it off.

"Our park is in good shape so there is no concern over the playing conditions going into the new year.

"We wanted to play Shettleston on Saturday to win the three points and get a bit closer to them in the table, but we will have to wait for another day.

"Shettleston will be up there at the end of the season - there's no doubt about that.

"There are a few good teams in the division and there will be no easy games in the

league."

Yoker's next game is against Carluke away this Saturday before they take on Benburb at home on December 19.
