Saturday’s result and performance It was mixed feeling after the game to be honest. I was disappointed that they were down to 10 men and we couldn’t get the win but pleased that the boys kept going and managed to get something right at the end.

Most teams will play defensive and try to hit you on the break when they have a man sent off, we should be good enough to break them down.

At half time we spoke about not conceding any cheap goals and the goal we conceded was a bad one. That leads to a bit of frustration from the crowd and the players because there was an expectation that we should be winning the game, playing at home and against 10 men.

Performances compared to last season Our lack of goals is an issue for us but it is not the only issue there are some of the boys who are capable of better in their general play.

Some players in other positions haven’t played as well as last season. We had a good season last year winning two cups and playing an attractive brand of football.

If I’m being honest about it after that there is always a chance some players performances will drop because if they were able to maintain such high standards every season they would be playing senior football.

Cup fixtures I would say in the position we are in it is good to get away from the league for a couple of weeks, maybe by the time we’re back in the league we’ll have one or two players back and be stronger.

We certainly won’t take the cups lightly, Craigmark Burntonians had a bad result on Saturday but they’ll be looking to put that right against us and put on a good showing at Station Park.

Injury news Joe Andrew and Ross Harvie should be available for us again soon. We played a friendly against Blantyre on Monday and Ross was able to get 60 minutes under his belt.

He’s been injury free for about a month but he was out for a long time and it’s just trying to get him match fit, it’s difficult to throw him in when you’ve not been getting results but he’ll be ready to start games soon so that will help us.
