The weekend’s result TO be honest I think Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Cumnock was probably a fair result.

We had the chances to score and we could have probably opened the scoring after only two minutes but just couldn’t take our chances.

At the end of the day we knew going into the match that Cumnock are a difficult team to beat so to come away from Townhead Park is pleasing in itself.

We had a number of players missing so it was never going to be easy.

Returning players AUSTIN McCann, Graeme Ramage, Andy Irvine and Ross Harvie all missed the weekend’s game at Cumnock.

Andy and Graeme should both be available for the visit of Irvine Meadow on Saturday which will be a boost as they have both featured regularly.

Having Austin out is a big blow as club captain but he should hopefully be back within the next couple of weeks.

We aren’t going to use having players missing as an excuse for not winning as it is the same for every team in the league so we just need to buckle down.

Still gelling FROM our own point of view the squad is still gelling together but I am happy with the way we are shaping up.

We need to start taking our chances in front of goal as well as tightening up a little at the back but that will come with the more games that the boys play together.

Meadow test IT doesn’t get any easier his week as we welcome Irvine Meadow to Holm Park.

I think I and most other managers in the league will agree that this division is probably one of the most competitive in the country as apart from the top three of Auchinleck Talbot, Irvine Meadow and Hurlford from last year, everyone outside that has the capability of beating one another.

The boys are excited about facing Meadow as they are a team that we have struggled to beat in the past and don’t have the best of records against.

We are looking forward to the test as they have started the season well and a win against them would be long overdue.

We hope to kickstart our season and it is only a matter of time.
