Tricky quarter final With no competitive game scheduled for Saturday we arranged a friendly with Bellshill but unfortunately they cancelled it which was disappointing as we hoped to get some game time for some of the players who hadn’t been playing much over pre-season and in the Sectional League Cup.

With the game being cancelled we still had the players in for training on Saturday so we still did manage to do some work with them.

We are now back in action tonight with the Sectional League Cup quarter final against Wishaw.

Wishaw are a team we have not played for a while but results and reports suggest we will be in for a tough match.

As far as I am aware, they are unbeaten in pre season and have beaten Hurford and drawn with Pollok while last year they beat Auchinleck in the West of Scotland Cup so the warning signs are there and we will give them the respect they deserve but I am confident that if the boys play the way they can then we will progress to the next round.

Start of the league campaign On Saturday we host Glenafton in a tough start to the league season.

They got stronger as the season went on last season and obviously got to the final of the Scottish Cup so we know they are a good team.

They beat us at Holm Park and I thought they were well worth their win and since then, over summer, they have added a number of players and now have an even stronger squad.

Amongst the players they have added is Adam Strachan and if Adam plays that will certainly make things more interesting.

It will be a difficult start to the league but such is the nature of this league that even if the fixtures had come out in a different order we would still face tricky games.

We always hope to pick up early points and we are looking forward to the challenge this weekend.

Squad movement One player who may not feature against Wishaw or Glenafton is Mikey Morris.

It is looking like Mikey is going to move on to get more regular games.

It is disappointing because we really like the big guy but with Graham Mort and and Andy Irvine added to the likes of Austin McCann and Paul Bell we are not able to guarantee Mikey game time and I totally understand why he wants to move on to try and get more games.

He is not the first player to want to play and will not be the last but my job is to get in as many good players as possible and we cannot guarantee anyone a game.
