Anyone who thought that Clydebank would just be playing for time in their remaining league fixtures were very much mistaken as the Bankies became the first side to beat Auchinleck Talbot in the league in two years. The Bankies victory gave some hope to the only two sides that have any chance in catching Talbot — Irvine Meadow and Hurlford.

This weekend it is one of those sides — Hurlford — who Clydebank will play as they take a trip down to Ayrshire.

A win for the Bankies would all but end Hurlford’s title ambitions and leave them to concentrate on the Scottish Junior Cup.

A win for Hurlford keeps them in with a small chance of catching Talbot with 10 games to go.

William Hill have installed the Ayrshire side as favourites for this match with Hurlford at 4/5, the Bankies are 23/10 to follow last week’s superb victory with another one at Blair Park.

Yoker returned to winning ways in the league last week with a victory at Lesmahagow which was their first win in the league since October.

Yoker are by no means safe from a relegation battle but those three points keep them four points above the drop zone for the time being.

This week Yoker are back on cup duty as they head to Rutherglen to take on Rutherglen Glencairn in the Central League Cup.

Glencairn will be eager to bounce back after exiting the Scottish Junior Cup to Bo’ness last week in the quarter finals.

William Hill reckon this will be a tight match with the home side slight favourites at 5/4 and Yoker at 6/4.
