Clydebank saw their game against Kilbirnie rained off last week and this week the Bankies are on cup duty as they visit Shotts in the Central League Cup second round.

Both these sides will fancy their chances in the competition and the Bankies will be hoping to add more silverware to the cabinet after winning the Sectional Cup earlier this season.

Shotts main hope this season was to return to the Premier Division but it is looking increasingly more likely they will need to do that via the play offs as Troon and Beith don’t seem to be wanting to give the top two spots up.

The Bankies are expected to win this match according the bookmakers odds with William Hill installing Clydebank as 8/13 favourites with Shotts at 11/4 Yoker are still waiting to play their first game after exiting both the Scottish Junior Cup and West of Scotland Cup in successive weeks.

Both defeats were heavy losing 4-1 to Whitletts in the Scottish and 6-1 to Neilston in the West so its vital that they can get a win and get some confidence back at the club.

It will not be easy as this week Maybole visit Holm Park. Maybole have been quietly going about their business and sit in fourth place in the league.

A shot at promotion may be beyond Maybole but that won’t stop them chasing every point in the hope one of the sides above them collapse.

William Hill have taken note of this recent form and have installed Maybole as 6/5 favourites to win this match with Yoker at 13/8.
