FRANK Lynch was pleased with Clydebank's battling performance to secure a point against title contenders Auchinleck.

And he now hopes they can put their inconsistent form behind them.

The Bankies have struggled to build up momentum in their league campaign and have yet to record back-to-back victories so far.

However, the Holm Park assistant hopes that will change after an encouraging performance against one of the top flight's strongest teams.

He said: "Budgie told the players that they need to get that level of consistency into our performances every week.

"But I am delighted with the point.

"It is the lack of consistency in the team all over the park. We got a good 3-0 win over Rob Roy and then beat Rossvale and it looks like we then suffered a 5-2 drubbing against Cumnock."

Lynch was pleased with the point, even though the home side did scorn some terrific opportunities in front of goal.

He added: "Over the piece no-one could complain about the result.

"If we had been offered a point before the game we would have taken it. Especially against a team like Auchinleck Talbot who I think are the benchmark team in Junior football."
