PAYBACK TIME: The Bankies will hope to avenge the 2-1 defeat they suffered at the hands of Auchinleck Talbot in last season’s Scottish Junior Cup Final at Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park

CLYDEBANK will be baying for revenge when they travel to Beechwood to face last season's Junior Cup final opponents Auchinleck Talbot.

The Ayrshire giants edged a 2-1 win against the Bankies last season at Rugby Park to lift the trophy and the Holm Park side will hope to get their own back on February 13 in the fifth round.

Clydebank also received another stern test in the League Cup when they were drawn against Arthurlie on Thursday night.

Despite Bankies boss Budgie McGhie knowing it will be a tough task against Tommy Sloan's side, who are fifth in the Super Premier League, he's confident of causing a shock and continuing their sensational unbeaten run away from home in the cup.

After the draw was made on Friday, McGhie told the Post: "It's a tough draw but you take what you are given.

"I would have preferred a home draw but we have a great away record.

"We have been unbeaten away in the Scottish Cup since our reincarnation seven years ago.

"I think it comes to something like thirty-two games, not including the final because that is at a neutral venue.

"We have been drawn against Arthurlie in the League Cup and Auchinleck in the Scottish Cup so you don't get much harder than that.

"We know it is a hard place to go but it doesn't strike any fear in us and we will be going there to cause an upset.

"I would hope we would bring a big crowd with us and it will catch the fans' imagination, especially the people who were at the final last season."

Bankies fans have been urged to back their heroes in huge numbers as they bid for Scottish Cup glory.

And in a drive to get as many fans as possible to Beechwood Park on Saturday week, the UCS Trust is subsidising coach travel to the match.

For just £5 fans can book a seat on one of the buses and help cheer the Holm Park side on to victory.

Clydebank chairman Gordon Robertson said: "This is an excellent gesture by the UCS Trust in a bid to maximise the numbers travelling to the match.

"It is a massive match and we are very much the underdogs but I can tell you that our manager and players are right up for it.

"And if they are cheered in by a big, noisy Clydebank support it could be a day to remember."

To book seats on the buses for Auchinleck on Saturday February 13, call Fred McCosh on 07890410606, or see Fred and Stevie McAnenay at the Bankies home match with Girvan on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Clydebank's hopes of re-launching their league campaign were dashed on Saturday as their match with Cumnock was frozen off. The Bankies face Girvan, who moved into second spot in the table on Saturday thanks to a 2-1 win over Dalry, on Saturday at 2pm at Holm Park.
