YOKER boss John Brogan is worried that the match postponements could derial Yoker Athletic's strong start to the season - but insists he will be satisfied with nothing less than winning the title.

Yoker had their game away to Forth Wanderers called off because of an unplayable pitch as mother nature wreaked havoc with the fixture list across Scotland. Yoker's postponed game away to Greenock Juniors FC is due to be played on Saturday.

Brogan said: "Hopefully the rain eases a wee bit and we get some windy weather to dry all the pitches off. It's pretty frustrating to get a wee run going then you can't play for a couple of weeks, it interrupts it a wee bit. But we've just got to get on with it and face what we're living in."

Despite his frustration Brogan refused to advocate Summer football.

He said: "I don't like summer football, I've came up through the ranks, and it just doesn't appeal to me.

" I know the weather's nice and all that but no, it's just not for me. I'd keep it the way it is, take the good with the bad."

The interruptions to league duty have not dented Brogan's confidence in his side, he said: "We're doing well, doing very well, we've just got to keep it going.

"Obviously we want to get promoted but ideally we'd love to win the league. It's going to be close, there's a few good teams in the league and I think it will be between about four or five teams."

"We've got a game in hand and our goal difference is slightly better so if we could win that it would get us up and level with points it would give us momentum to kick on."

"Greenock are doing alright as well, they have a good manager, but we'll give it 100 per cent."
