The sides were due to face in the New Coin Holdings Cup second round but a waterlogged pitch meant another date will have to be found to play the fixture.

With Whe Ho in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup and with several games in hand over their rivals in the league, McAulay is worried that Yoker will suffer with so many games to play in the run in.

The silver lining for the Yoker boss was that their Scottish Cup opponents tie was also postponed. East Region sides Linlithgow Rose and Camelon will face each other this Saturday to decide who travels to Holm Park for the quarter-final, giving McAulay’s a game prior to the tie — against Rutherglen Glencairn on Saturday.

McAulay was delighted to be drawn at home for the crunch tie.

He told SportScene: “It is starting to become a concern now with the amount of games we still have to play. We have to start prioritising things now because of the amount of games that are left and try to get as much game time for the full squad as we can so that everyone is ready to go — in case we have to call on boys who haven’t been playing regular.

“That was the plan against Greenock to change it about a bit.

“In the cup the first thing you hope for is a home draw and we have got that so we are delighted.” Having watched the first match between Camelon and Linlithgow Rose — which finished 2-2 — McAulay insists his team should hold no fear of either side and he believes Whe Ho have a great chance of reaching the semi-finals.

He said: “On our day if we perform the way we are capable of, we will give either of them a game. I would fancy our chances against either of them in a one off game.”
