Steven Reilly hailed his Yoker Athletic’s “five star” performance after beating Forth Wanderers 6-1 on Saturday at Holm Park.

The manager was impressed with his side’s ruthless touch, with Ryan Hynes and Greg Maitland and Greg Cree all getting two each.

It was Yoker’s first league win of the season, after drawing their opener against Greenock 2-2 and losing to Neilston 2-1 last week.

And the Whe-Ho boss was glad he didn’t lose ground on their league rivals, as they target promotion this season.

He said: “It was excellent for us.

“It was a must win game for us in my eyes, and it was a five star performance from us.

“The boys produced the goods, if we’d lost that game on Saturday you’re losing track with Benburb who have won all their games, so you could be a few points behind heading into the first quarter of the season.

“It’s a tough task, but we produced the results.”
