Aaron Belkevitz took on all comers to win gold at the Scottish Athletics West Districts Championships under-15 boys 80m hurdles.

The 14-year-old is a third year pupil at Clydebank High, and he ran a new personal best time of 12.66 at the tournament on Saturday, May 14.

That eye catching performance has shot him up to sixth in Scotland.

The win and record breaking time is all the more remarkable given Aaron was out the whole of last season due to a broken foot and hand.

He has worked hard to get back to fitness and it has certainly paid off as he continues to go from strength to strength.

Aaron can now look ahead to the Nationals at the end of the summer where he will be aiming to become the best in Scotland when he tests himself up against a strong field.

Aaron runs for Victoria Park city of Glasgow AAC.

He was encouraged to get into athletics by a teacher at his Primary School, Clydemuir and has never looked back.
