CLYDEBANK karate club Kokusai brought home a raft of medals from recent national and international events.
At the Scottish International Open, 10 countries competed and Kokusai were among the top performers, winning five medals.
Their results were as follows:
David Johnston – senior male, kata, gold.
Ania Surma – senior female, kata gold and bronze in kumite.
Emma Ruthven – 14 to 15-year-old girls, kata, silver.
Jo Allan – senior female, kata, silver.
At the Scottish Grand Prix in Wishaw, there was further success for the Clydebank club as another five medals were won.
The results were as follows:
Stuart Mungall – male vets, kata, gold.
David Johnston – senior male, kata, silver.
Ania Surma – senior female, kata, silver.
Emma Ruthven – 14 to 15-year-old girls, kata silver.
Jo Allan – senior female, kata, bronze.
Kokusai Karate is an accredited club with the Scottish karate governing body.
They train Tuesdays and Fridays in the Playdrome sports centre.
