Drumchapel Table Tennis Club's premier team were knocked off of top spot in the British League Premier Division after the last round of fixtures in Cardiff last weekend.

The Drum team of He Zhi When, Chris Wheeler, Victor Guang Shi and Yaser Razouk travelled south on January 9 and 10 defending pole position in the table.

On Saturday morning they were pegged back from a 4-2 lead by Kingfisher to draw 4-4. Two wins coming from He Zhi When and one each for Chris Wheeler and Victor Guang Shi got a point on the board for the Drum.

The team faced the hosts the following afternoon and Cardiff City Table Tennis club prevailed in a 5-3 win.

He Zhi When once again notched up two wins for Drumchapel and Victor Guang Shi secured the other victory.

The results leave Drumchapel third in the league standings behind Ormesby and four off the pace setters Nottingham Sycamore.

However Drum will have an opportunity leapfrog those two sides with matches with them on the horizon.

Drumchapel must now prepare for the next round of fixtures at Ormesby Table Tennis Club when they will face Ormesby, BATTS, Fushion and Nottingham Sycamore.
