EGG-cited kids at Kilbowie Primary were tweeted to a close encounter with their very own baby chicks. Chirpy primary 7 pupils took part in the Living Eggs lifecycle programme, a two-week scheme which allows children to watch baby chickens hatch in the classroom.

FIREFIGHTERS have rescued two people from a burning block of flats in Dalmuir. At 12.30am this morning (Tuesday April 24) four fire engines were called to Ellinger Court following a fire on the sixth floor.

Two brave reporters got stripped for action when they had their legs WAXED to raise cash for earthquake victims. Daredevil scribes Robert Moore, 25, and Andrew Gibson, 27 - staff journalists with the Clyde Weekle Press series - showed they were real men when they decided to have their hairy legs shorn of their fur. The fundraising fun was to raise money for Mary's Meals Haiti Earthquake Appeal. Now running for more than two years, the appeal helps rebuild shattered lives on the Carribbean island which was struck by a massive tremor in January 2010. The lads whelped and yelped at Whispering Willows beauty salon in Dumbarton as beautician Alisha Johnson struggled to keep a straight face.

Clydemuir Primary: Sport Relief
CLYDEBANK kids put the fun into fund-raising last Friday (March 23) to raise money for Sports Relief. Sporty sprogs at Linnvale Primary managed to raise a whopping £500 by selling wrist bands in school as well as taking part on a challenging Sport Relief mile. Maragret McRory, deputy head teacher told the Post: "It was organised by the pupil council, they sold wrist bands and took part in a mile walk through the school. "It was a lovely afternoon, and the weather was kind to us which was good."

Our Lady of Loretto Primary: Spring Fayre
IT COULD have been magic after Barry Manilow helped bring early sunshine to the Our Lady of Loretto Primary School Spring Fayre. Crowds piled into the Dalmuir fundraising event, with a top raffle prize of tickets to see the 68-year-old soft rock legend live in concert proving the main draw. Parents dug deep to raise cash for the school - backed by the parent council - with the school's coffers eventually boosted by over £2,000.

IT was a fantastic night of action at the St Andrew's Sporting Club's monthly show on Tuesday night. Scotstoun boxer David Savage took on Dougie 'The Bullet' Curran, from Newcastle, in a bout that was called a draw. Kris Carslaw produced some excellent moments to outscore opponent Keiron Gray and Prince of Passion defeated Lee Quinn

THE results of heat three of the West Dunbartonshire Sportshall championship were held at the Play Drome recently.

CHEEKY pupils at St Eunan's Primary in Clydebank pulled a switch on their teachers last week. The fun-loving youngsters dressed up as geeky or glamorous teachers to raise cash for St Margaret's Hospice.
