IT was a great disappointment when I went to vote to learn that only one MP standing for election actually lived in West Dunbartonshire.
This swayed my vote slightly. I doubt I would have voted for that party if this had not been the case.
Every other politician lived outside our county, for example, Bearsden, Anniesland and Loch Lomond.
To be able to address the problems that are arising in our area, is it too much to ask that our elected MP actually stay in that vicinity?
I cannot fathom to see how a politician staying in Bearsden can actually begin to understand the problems that West Dunbartonshire faces if they do not experience them first hand.
Perhaps when the next election comes I can actually get to vote for the party I would have liked to win as a whole, and not be forced into a vote based simply on the local geographical aspect.
Alison Spencer, Duntocher
