I WOULD like to thank the people of Clydebank and Drumchapel and the other people in Glasgow who support St Margaret's Hospice.
I live overseas but was born in Glasgow and lived in Drumchapel from 1953 to 1973 before moving to Canada.
My mother, Phyllis Woods, passed away on February 3, 2009, and was admitted to the hospice in October 2008.
We were allowed to stay at the hospice from October until she passed and the special people there helped not only our mum, but our whole family.
Each and every day they went beyond what was ever expected of them.
I heard many times the kind people at the hospice saying it is because of the people in this community they can keep on going.
This remark says a lot about the people who live in the area and beyond who take the time to raise funds to support the hospice.
My mum said one day "I can die happy here" and she did.
We thank Sister Rita and all her staff, and thank all the people who support the hospice.
You should be proud.
Carol Campbell (nee Wood), Canada
