DES McNulty has a lot to say about other political parties but very little to say about the failings of his own.
We all know now that the Labour Government at Westminster has run up a UK debt of £170bn.
We all now also know that it intends to introduce severe budget constraints and cuts in public expenditure to get its books in order and that all Government departments and services will be affected.
It is also now clear that Scotland's £30bn annual budget is to be cut by £800m per year for the foreseeable future and that front line services will suffer as a result of it.
Labour also intend to cut capital expenditure and reduce benefits to help reduce this Labour deficit as well as giving no tax concessions whatsoever for those on low or middle incomes.
We also know that the Labour Government is calling for a freeze on wages for public service workers.
Labour is, however, happy to spend up to £100bn on Trident and billions more on a relentless war in Iraq.
Yes, severe public funding cuts are coming to Scotland, and they are coming from the Labour Government in London who hold the purse strings.
People now know this to be the case even if Des McNulty is still in denial of his own party's actions to date and intentions for the future.
Councillor Jim Finn, SNP Kilpatrick ward
