A building to celebrate

I COULD enter into debate with Ms Malcolm regarding the dating of the bathhouse in Bruce Street, but this would be missing the point completely.

What cannot be argued is that this building is one of the few remaining original buildings of any stature, and which managed to survive the onslaught of the Blitz (and still carries the scars to prove it).

Most other local authorities would be celebrating such history, yet ours is under threat of demolition, an act which could be compared with vandalism.

The same council which is proposing the demise of this asset to the town is also advertising it as a feature in its Heritage Trail brochure (item two).

Perhaps the left hand does not know what the right hand is up to.

Walter Graham, secretary of Parkhall, North Kilbowie and Central Community Council
