Letters
HIS week I had occasion to visit Barns Street in Whitecrook of an evening to discover one section from Dunmore Street to Cochno Street had a street lighting fault.
I understand this had existed over the previous four evenings and enquiries by residents elicited the response “it has been reported” — a somewhat fatuous reply when what was wanted was an indication of action. As many people know, Barns Street is a busy traffic road with a number of buses using it regularly as part of their route.
After reading the article (26/11/08) on the Boulevard and seeing another accident has taken place it is time that something was done.
Is there really no limit to ex-Clydebank boss Jack Steedman’s headline-grabbing arrogance in his appeal, and evident dream, to realise a proposed development on the Hardgate Wedge?
It was with some surprise I read the headline in last week’s Post ‘Water bosses didn’t know smell was so bad’.
With regards to the letter last week from SNP councillors regarding policing, I do not support the SNP proposals that make us pay twice for a service we are entitled to.
We are the fundraising committee for Champion Dance and Cheer Allstars. The squad is well known in the area from Dumbarton to Bearsden and the areas in between.

Yep, 2008 is almost over, what better time to look back at what has lit up the cinematic world - and died like a damp squib - over the last twelve months. The big question is, will you agree with me?
Well finally we've seen Annie. But only seen her. The Beeb (or possibly writer Toby Whithouse) is an utter utter tease. She doesn't even speak!
The first look at the new Mitchell...
When Aidan Turner got the role of Mitchell in Being Human there were a lot of people convinced he wouldn't be able to do what Guy Flanagan did in the pilot. I say a lot. Not a lot maybe, but certainly a vocal minority of the people who fell in love with the show when it was first shown.
The Americanisation of British things is often a bad thing. People in shops telling you to 'have a nice day', the use of 'z' rather than 's' in way too many words, the fact that if you order a large coffee nowadays it's actually a bucket that you could swim in and priced accordingly.
Have you TRIED turning it off an on again?
Whether you're an IT geek or have ever worked anywhere where you've had to deal with the IT department, Channel 4's brilliant comedy The IT Crowd is part of the week's essential viewing at the moment.
One of the things I love about my job is that no two days are ever the same. There's always something unusual going on and it means there's never a dull moment.<
