Over the last few weeks we have seen locally the ways in which a community pulls together when needed.

Such as the staff who work in our vital services and still managed to ensure that our community was still safe and serviced.

And there were lots of people who were checking on vulnerable neighbours and ensuring our community was safe. I also joined the staff, pupils and family at our Clyde Campus to clear the snow to ensure it was safe for the children to get back to school.

I was very impressed and inspired by some local children who used these snow days to go around chapping doors and getting a petition together to look at local play park provision.

And upon meeting them we have worked on a local action plan to take this forward for them ā€“ this has all been led by the young people.

I did also enjoy all the social media posts of our local children building igloos which was an activity created by STEM Glasgow.

Iā€™d like to celebrate our community art project, which is a community-led project between DRC Youth Project, Scotstoun Community Council, Heart of Scotstoun, Community Safety and Sustran.

This project is transforming a neglected community space on our well-used cycle track into something the community and young people can feel proud of and take ownership of.

Our community is one to be proud of and the way we work together to help and support one another.

I would like to thank everyone for all their hard work.
