ONE of the world’s biggest movie stars has been delighting selfie-seeking fans as he films a blockbuster in Glasgow.

King of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan has been seen shooting scenes for upcoming thrilled Badla (Revenge) in Tradeston.

The 75-year-old veteran actor was even rushed out of the building on Tuesday amid a fire scare.

Having turned out to be a false alarm, Bachchan shared pictures of himself on set and wrote on his blog: “Amidst all this the alarm of the fire and an evacuation of the premises by the staircase - disciplined and urgent and obeyed to the ‘t’.

“When the investigation was over, it was an unattended meal being cooked in one of the apartments where we worked. But the efficiency of the system was remarkable. ‘An unattended meal being cooked’ ????!! Amazing.”

Production units have been snapped on location at the old Glasgow Co-operative building on Morrison Street.

An inside source told the Evening Times: “He just drives in but doesn’t stop for fans or anything, so it’s difficult to get a decent picture.

“They’re actually filming with a crane at the old Co-op building in Tradeston and have rented a flat out, as well as the office downstairs, as a base of operations.

“They’re heading up to Aviemore to continue filming next week

“Amitabh is also pencilled in for lunch with the Queen at some point while he’s over here.”

“For now, he basically gets snuck in and out.”

A lifelong fan managed to get up close and personal with Amitabh before he was driven off in a car on Tuesday.

The fan told the Evening Times: “I spoke with him in Hindi. He’s a very, very polite person and has tremendous respect for his fans.”

Bachchan has appeared in close to 200 Indian films in a career spanning almost five decades.

More recently, he featured in Hollywood hit The Great Gatsby in 2013 in which he played non-Indian, Jewish character, Meyer Wolfsheim.
