The Clyde Shopping Centre has picked up a top environmental prize at a prestigious awards ceremony in London. Operations Manager Tom McGolgan collected The Green Award for the centre for there ongoing commitment to the environment at the bash in Canary Wharf.

The Clyde Shopping Centre came home with the Green Apple Gold for commerce Scotland after their effective procedures were published in the Green Organisations Green Book for others to follow the good practice.

The annual awards ceremony recognises companies, councils and communities that are carrying out projects that enhance the local environment.

Delighted Centre Manager Andrew Forrester said: " We are absolutely delighted to have won this award. This is a team effort with all of our staff and tenants working towards reducing the carbon footprint.

"The Centre management are committed to continuously reducing the carbon footprint within the Clydebank community and this award is a wonderful endorsement to the excellent work carried out by all the staff."

The Clyde Shopping Centre's entry for the award will be published in the Green organisation international Green Book so that other organisations to follow the good work that they have undertaken for the local environment.
