Hoff-way to stardom
When a Clydebank man decided to ditch his apprenticeship in floor laying and pursue a career as a full-time dancer, he wasn't quite sure how things would work out.
But the gamble has paid off for Michael Scott, 20, as he has secured gigs dancing with household names such as David Guetta and Kelly Rowland, and only three weeks ago was dancing with David Hasselhoff.
As of last month, the Drumry man was able to give up his part time job in a bar, and is now able to live entirely from working as a performer and teaching dance.
It all started when Michael was a pupil at St Columba's High.
He said: "Somebody that I'm quite friendly with now, came into the school to do a workshop when I was in fifth year.
"I was just hooked on it from then on."
But it was when the Mobo Awards were hosted at the SECC in 2009 that Michael really got his chance to shine.
He said: "It was there I danced with Kelly Rowland and David Guetta and it was that gig that made me go to dance college.
"My aim is to go to London because there isn't enough work for a dancer in Scotland."
Michael recently danced with David Hasselhoff, when he made an appearance at Campus in Glasgow.
Although it was an experience busting moves with the world famous 'Hoff', Michael says the legend's music isn't really to his taste.
He said: "All the girls that were there loved him. I wasn't so sure."
Michael runs a number of dance classes for people who want to have a go at learning to dance.
He teaches from five-year-olds, right up to adults. There are three classes in Clydebank and some in Dumbarton.
