Roadworks for next six months
Clydebank's roads are set to be thrown into chaos for almost six months.
Gas works started on Kilbowie Road on Monday, reducing the key route to one lane with a contraflow in place, and it will be 24 weeks before the work is completed.
Creating even more of a headache for commuters, Kilbowie Road's junctions with Montrose Street and Drumry Road will be completely closed during phase two of the work.
The work on Kilbowie Road will be done in three stages.
The first phase will see restrictions in place between Singer railway station and the Montrose Street junction, the second will be between the Montrose Street and Drumry Road junctions, and the third will run from Drumry Road up to the Radnor Street junction.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place and there will be diversions on Montrose Street and Drumry Road when their junctions are closed.
No exact dates for closing the Montrose Street and Drumry Road junctions have been set.
The work will run from now until the end of November when it will stop during the festive season. It will then restart in January.
Ian Connor, Scottish Gas Networks engineering manager, said: "All of our planning and work is being carried out in close consultation with West Dunbartonshire Council, Amey and traffic management company Contraflow. "We are working with the community and will do everything we can to minimise disturbance."
West Dunbartonshire Council is urging people to make sure they leave enough time for their journeys as travelling time will be significantly increased.
