Party could hold clues to killer
New lines of inquiry have emerged in the hunt for the killer of Scott Adams.
Scott, 20, was fatally attacked in Morrison Street, Duntocher, at around 1.50am on Sunday July 18.
This week CID confirmed they had not yet found the bladed weapon that killed him, but said they were following a positive line of inquiry in the hunt for the suspect.
They now want to hear from anyone who was at a party in Davies Square that night, which is a block of flats near to where Scott was wounded.
Police believe Scott, who lived in Parkhall, was drinking in the Duntiglennan until around 1am that morning, and have asked that anyone who saw or talked to him to contact them.
Scott was not at the party, but police have refused to comment on whether they believe his killer was.
At the weekend officers questioned people near the scene who may have been in the vicinity the previous week.
Detective Inspector Michael Lappin is confident there are still people who could help that have yet to come forward.
He believes even the most trivial piece of information could prove vital in piecing together the puzzle.
He said: "So far, police have received a good response from the public who want to assist police with their enquiries.
"However, I am in no doubt that there are still people out there with vital information regarding this investigation, who, for whatever reason have still not come forward to police.
"I would re-appeal to anyone with information regarding this murder, no matter how trivial it may seem to contact the incident room at Clydebank police office."
Anyone with information on the murder or who was in the Duntiglennan or at the party in Davies Square on July 17 or 18 should contact the incident room at Clydebank police office on 0141 532 3300.
Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained or call into the mobile police station on Morrison Street, Duntocher.
