A BANKIE hero footballer was subjected to a barrage of vile racist taunts during Saturday's 2009 cup final grudge re-match.
Things became so concerning that the team bus was given a police escort from the ground after the away game with Auchinleck Talbot - the side which narrowly defeated the Bankies in last Summer's Scottish Junior Cup Final.
On that day Chris Mackie scored Clydebank's equalising goal.
But on Saturday the Bankie striker was targeted by a small section of mindless bigots in the Talbot support.
Chris said at first he tried to ignore the abuse but it got so bad he had to go off the pitch to speak with police.
Strathclyde Police confirmed a 27-year-old man was arrested at the game and appeared in court on Monday.
