Woolies to Wilkos

Clydebank's former Woolworths store is getting a new lease of life.

Home and garden specialist Wilkinson is taking over the site in the Clyde Shopping Centre, and will be drafting in 87 members of staff, including some former Woolworths employees.

The 20,728 sq ft shop will stock health and beauty items, cleaning products, kitchenware, stationery, toys and DIY items.

The store is set to open on December 2 so will be selling Christmas decorations and stocking fillers for festive shoppers.

Items for sale will be a mixture of 'Wilkos' own label products and top brands.

This is a much-needed boost to the shopping centre after Woolworths closed on December 27 last year.
