Murder verdict - breaking news

Print | Email

GARY and Michael Gorman have been found guilty of the murder of Clydebank dad Bernard Hagan.

The verdict was delivered this afternoon (Thursday October 15) after the jury deliberated their decision for around four hours.

Twenty-five-year-old Gary Gorman stabbed dad-of-three Bernard Hagen six times and left him dying in the street.

While Gary Gorman carried out the brutal attack his uncle Michael Gorman, 44, prevented Mr Hagen's friend James Harkin from coming to his aid.

At the High Court in Glasgow both were convicted of killing Mr Hagen at Johnston Avenue and Fleming Avenue, Whitecrook, Clydebank, on November 6, last year.

Judge Lord Matthews deferred sentence until next month for background reports and remanded them in custody.
