Hitting the heights of comedy heroes
Comedian aims to follow in the footsteps of Kevin Bridges

FUNNY MAN: Rob Kane
AFTER the meteoric success of Hardgate comedian Kevin Bridges, another funny man from the area is starting to make a name for himself.
Rob Kane, 31, delivered a side-splitting routine at The Stand in Glasgow last week, outshining more experienced acts on the bill.
The joker, who has been stalking the comedy circuit for the last three years, steeps his act in his Drumchapel heritage from the very start, giving his material a sense of place alongside his razor-sharp wit.
The former pupil of Waverley and Drumchapel high schools told the Post his upbringing forms a huge part of writing his jokes.
Rob said: "I think some of the funniest stories you can tell are true - my act lets people know where I come from and I think that helps them get my comedy.
"I draw so much from life experience - growing up I used to watch Billy Connolly with his very working class comedy and I could just associate with that.
"I remember going to The Stand for the first time about seven-years-ago - it was first proper comedy club I went to and I was sitting there with my mouth open just wanting to be up there myself.
"I have always secretly harboured that ambition to be on stage and being there and seeing the performers, it was like something clicked and I knew I wanted that."
