A FAMILY has told how cops offered to put them in a safe house after a mum made serious threats against her husband.
Prim-looking Ann Gibson, 51, already had weapons convictions, so when she left a note indicating she was on her way to Clydebank to "harm" her estranged hubby, police did not let appearances deceive.
She had written: "Going to see the kids - I might end up in prison."
Her brother, on reading the note, phoned her and she told him she could not take any more because of delays in her divorce and that she would "harm" husband Iain, who she separated from in 2004.
An armed response police unit rushed to Buchanan Street bus station in Glasgow to intercept Gibson, and when they cornered her she told them "I have a gun in my bag".
A toy firearm was found along with 30 pellets - but she later chillingly claimed she would have got a "real gun" if she got the chance.
This week in the Post Iain, 56, lifts the lid on the years of hell which began when Ann left them without explanation and tells of the damage she has done to his and their children's lives.
