SATURDAY nights at the Boulevard night club may conjure up a lot of hazy memories for many Bankies - but one mum-to-be ensured it would be a night to remember after giving birth to twins in the car park.

It was 10-years-ago that Clydebank woman Angela Fleming was rushing to hospital to give birth when she and partner Danny Kirkwood realised they were not going to make it.

The frantic couple pulled into the nearest place to find urgent help as Angela's contractions became severe - and came to a stop outside the Boulevard, just as the night's revellers were pouring out to head home.

The babies were born in the back of their car with the help of a Pizza Hut worker on a night out.

A decade on the memories are still fresh for the Mountblow couple, and little Daniel and Dillon are celebrating their 10th birthday.

Angela, 38, told the Post: "Because of what happened it's not something you forget easily.

"My waters broke in the house, but the nurses said just take your time coming over.

"I don't know why but I just thought something would happen.

"Within moments my contractions were really severe and we had to get in the car.

"It was a total emergency so we pulled in to the hotel.

"We approached a taxi driver waiting outside who got a bit of a fright I think."

Danny ran into reception and within minutes an unlikely saviour arrived - a Pizza Hut employee on a night out with her colleagues.

With Dillon already born, Angela's emergency 'midwife' had the presence of mind to tie the umbilical cord and wrap him up before Daniel came into the world.

The amazing story made headline news in the Clydebank Post.

Angela added: "You couldn't have guessed the girl had just been at the dancing because she was so calm and such an amazing help.

"I do remember her whenever I pass by a Pizza Hut but we've not spoken since."
