A MOTHER has turned the tales she told her children at bedtime into her debut novel for youngsters — and recently stopped by a Clydebank primary school to share her story.

Angela Proctor, 45, penned Thumble Tumble and the Ollpheist. It is a story about witches and dragons and a battle between good and evil.

The financial director, who lives in Glasgow’s west end, said she was delighted to be coming to Our Holy Redeemer Primary to tell pupils about her book.

She told the Post: “The kids at Our Holy Redeemer were fanstastic — I got a great response from them, so I’m well chuffed. I was speaking to them about how I got into writing, I read them a chapter from the book, and told them all about how to make a story.

“It was good to remind the kids that books aren’t boring, they’re fun and not at all nerdy.” Angela got involved in writing five years ago when on Arran with her kids Sky and Kyle, now five and seven respectively. She made up a story about a light in the sky that was to be her main character, Thumble Tumble.

Thumble Tumble and the Ollpheist is the first in a series of eight books by the first-time author.
