KEVIN Bridges is back at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro today (Thursday) night to continue his incredible run of 16 gigs at the top city venue.

The Clydebank comedian has already gone down a storm with crowds and will perform to 12,000 sellout audiences for each of his remaining 10 shows in Glasgow.

It means that Kevin, who grew up in Hardgate, will perform to an incredible 192,000 people in the city.

The Glasgow nights are part of the comedy hero’s 100 date UK tour, A Whole Different Story, which started in Leeds in June and will finish on the Isle of Man in December.

Tickets were snapped up quickly and Bridges was keen to show his appreciation, telling fans at the Hydro last week: “Thank you, it means a lot. I’m doing 16 nights, One Direction are only doing two”.

No topic seemed to be off limits as Bridges had a laugh about marriage, drugs, sectarianism, austerity, sleepovers and tax havens.

An aside about the reason Scots voted against independence, “we were worried Asda was going to increase prices”, went down a storm, while discussions with fans, some of whom had travelled from Spain, Canada and Jersey to attend the show, threw up some great giggles.

There were plenty of Clydebank people at his Hydro shows last week and they gave raving reviews of the homecoming gigs on our Facebook page.

Nikki Somerville Carberry said: “I went (last) Monday with my family. Amazing night, he did us proud.

“Even my 15-year-old daughter loved him.” Kevin MacNab added: “He was world class hilarious. Best thing to ever come out of Clydebank.” Meanwhile, Bankies also gave the thumbs-up to Kevin’s comedy support act Romesh Ranganathan.

April McCallum commented: “Brilliant. Support act and Kev were hilarious.” Henry Mullen said: “Was there Wednesday night, guy is hilarious.”
