THREE teachers have been appointed to run Clydebank High School until a permanent head teacher is found.

David Docherty, John Hand and Mary Rooney will share the acting head teacher’s role this term following the retirement of Stewart Young.

Writing in the Clydebank High School newsletter, the acting head teachers said: “Over the last eight weeks or so, we have been working to ensure that this arrangement is planned and coordinated to ensure that it works to the maximum benefit of the school.” The shared head teacher’s role comes after West Dunbartonshire Council confirmed an earlier attempt to appoint a head teacher had been unsuccessful, despite 16 people applying for the role.
