CLYDEBANK residents have been urged to be on the lookout for a missing young woman.

Danielle Vance is known to have friends in the town and it is thought she may be with them.

The 20-year-old was last seen in the waiting room of a dental surgery in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire, at around 3.30pm on Tuesday, August 18.

Miss Vance, who also goes by the surname McBride, was last seen by her stepmother at the dentist’s office.

She is described as 5ft 4in, of slim build, with long brown hair and brown eyes. Before she went missing she was wearing an orange tracksuit top, white jeans and brown boots.

Inspector Stuart McVean, of Police Scotland, said: “Danielle’s family are very concerned about her safety as she left without any warning.

“She is known to have friends within the Pollokshaws, Gorbals and Clydebank areas of Glasgow and it is believed that she may be with them.

“CCTV footage from inside the dentist shows Danielle using a mobile phone.

“However her family were unaware that she had a phone and do not have her contact details.

“I would ask Danielle to make contact, she’s not in any trouble. We all just want to know that she is safe and well.” Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.
